About Us
Buena Beats resulted from the frustration, stress, and unique situation of planning our own wedding. Before Jorge and Stephanie started Buena Beats, she spent over seven years in catering, event planning, and hospitality – and Jorge spent most of his weekends tinkering with his sound system at home, haunting electronics stores, and installing audio systems in friends’ cars when called. Buena Beats became the marriage of our professional skills, as well as our passion to empathize, tell bilingual couples “We’ve been there,” and assure them that both sides of the family would enjoy, understand, and feel included.
When Jorge and Stephanie got engaged, the concept of a bilingual wedding, and music in both languages for our diverse group of guests, immediately became a difficult issue. Few DJs, in 2005, had websites, and requests for referrals from everyone we knew yielded nothing. Finally, at the last minute, we wound up hiring an English-speaking DJ that played 3 songs in Spanish at the end of the night. The inconvenience, irritation, and disappointment with our own experience led to the launch of Buena Beats in 2012. Drawing upon the challenges we encountered in trying to plan a bilingual wedding of own, we focused our skills, talents, and expertise toward the creation of Buena Beats Entertainment; bringing bilingual couples an affordable, convenient, and professional wedding that respects, includes, and seamlessly combines Latin and American culture. In 2016, Jorge introduced the Buena Beats Photo Booth, to add excitement and fun to the event.
